NaPoWriMo Meme

NaPoWriMo would not be complete without a little introspection on the process. Consider yourself tagged for this meme, and let me know that you’ve posted the answers on your blog. Congrats to all April participants and readers.

    1. Number of poems written in April.
    2. Number of poems you’ll keep and revise.
    3. List the titles of your top three NaPoWriMo poems.
    4. List your three least favorite NaPoWriMo poems.
    5. Favorite line from one of your NaPoWriMo poems.
    6. Favorite poem by a NaPoWriMo participant.
    7. What surprised you most about writing a poem a day?
    8. Now that you’ve started the momentum, what’s next?

Here are my answers.

1. Number of poems written in April: 30

2. Number of poems you’ll keep and revise: 19

3. List the titles of your top three NaPoWriMo poems.
What My Kids Will Write About Me in Their Future Tell-All Book
Tether
Funny Poem

4. List your three least favorite NaPoWriMo poems.
Contrasts
How the Body Forgives
Intoxication

5. Favorite line from one of your NaPoWriMo poems.
"They will say I loved them so much it hurt."

6. Favorite poem by a NaPoWriMo participant.
Kelli Russell Agodon's "New Year"

7. What surprised you most about writing a poem a day?
That it was easier than last year. Given that my kids are toddlers and require more of me, I'm surprised that I wrote almost every day. Some days I had to double up to stay on track, but generally I started a poem midday and posted it around midnight.

8. Now that you have the momentum, what’s next?
Taking a day off next week (I hope) so that I can organize, start revising, and begin to send out poems for publication.

Ah thanks! Glad you liked that one. It was fun to rant, I mean, write!

Happy END OF National Poetry Month!!

Ummmm...number of poems written in April zero, which makes the answer to the second one zero as well, and most of the rest impossible to answer.
Perhaps I'll check through yours and see which I like most :)
I really should get writing again, though I find it hard to turn my attention to words after days filled with numbers.

Catherine, next year is your year!

Kelli, I wish I had tried a rant, or a new form. Oh well, I didn't think I'd finish out the month!

Happy end of National Poetry Month!

Thanks for this meme; it was very therapeutic! I had a less than enjoyable NaPoWriMo, although it had a few moments of brilliance. Thinking about and answering those questions helped me figure out why.

Congratulations on completing the month. You inspired me to do my own poetry practice. It was transformative.
