Sam Cornish, Boston City Poet Laureate, will open the program. Four featured poets followed by an open mike. Free admission.

Biographies Below:

BONNIE BISHOP’S poetry celebrates resilience and beauty in such diverse arenas as the natural world, urban teens, memory, and the making of art. Her first book, Local Habitation, was recently published by Every Other Thursday Press. Her work has appeared in English Journal, Larcom Review, Hanging Loose, Diner, and elsewhere.

PHILIP E. BURNHAM, JR. writes about the intersection of nature, time and human experience. His poems feature sonnets, and other formal constructions . They have appeared in many journals, most recently the Aurorean, Blue Unicorn, Ibbetson Street, and Margie. He has four published collections of poetry and was featured on the PBS Writer’s Almanac.

JANUARY GILL O’NEIL's, first poetry collection is Underlife (CavanKerry Press, December, 2009). In December 2009, January was awarded a Barbara Deming Memorial Fund Artist Grant, and is featured in Poets & Writers magazine’s January/February 2010 Inspiration issue as one of their 12 debut poets. She is a senior writer/editor at Babson College, and a fellow with Cave Canem poets.

MICHAEL ZACK is a physician Board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine and Sports Medicine. He is the winner of numerous poetry awards including the Anamnesis Poetry Chapbook Competition, and the author of several hundred published poems and 3 published chapbooks. He is currently Poetry Editor of Chest,the Journal of the American College of Chest Physicians.
