NY State of Mind

It was only a 24-hour trip, but I had more fun in my brief visit to New York City than I've had in a very long time.

First, a few photos from my alumni reading at NYU.

(L to R ... my fellow readers: Sung Woo, me, John Murillo, and Ishion Hutchinson)

(L to R: Aracelis Girmay, Ron Villanueva, John Murillo, Pat Rosal, and me.)

Then, a celebratory dinner at Fig & Olive. Pictured here is me and my partner in crime, poet Colleen Michaels.

Saturday morning, a little free write and coffee with Colleen.

After lunch at The Cornelia Street Cafe (a great venue for poetry readings, BTW), we stopped in at Poets House before heading home. Poets House was so fabulous it deserves its own post. Stay tuned.
